Description

This course is designed to elevate clinical practice with intermediate to advanced elements of vestibular rehabilitation and concussion care for physiotherapists, including application of the Clinical Practice Guidelines for Vestibular Hypofunction and Concussion.

Up-to-date vestibular rehabilitation assessment and treatment techniques will be discussed, including problem solving for complex cases.

Considerations for essential elements of concussion assessment, predictors of patient outcomes, patient education and screening for appropriate referrals, a multi-disciplinary approach to concussion care, and return to school and sport will be described. Concussion treatment including training for exercise tolerance, cervical spine impairments, vestibular and oculomotor issues, balance, and dual tasking will be explored.

Opportunities for application of knowledge will be provided via case example discussions in addition to the hand-on lab.
